Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)

Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a condition in which there is compression, injury, or irritation of blood vessels and nerves in the space between your collarbone and your first rib.

Symptoms include:

Neck pain

Shoulder pain

Arm pain

Numbness and tingling of fingers

Impaired circulation to the extremities (discolored, cold hands)

Weakness of the hand and arm muscles

Following a detailed history, orthopedic tests and a neurological evaluation will be performed to determine if you have TOS.  X-rays may reveal an extra rib (cervical rib) that is contributing to your TOS.  X-rays may also rule out other conditions that may be causing your symptoms.  In some cases, a specialized protocol of MRI studies may be recommended.

Conservative treatment options include:

Chiropractic Adjustments

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Class IV Laser

Spinal Decompression

Dry Needling

Rock Tape
